The Port Orchard City Council is expected to make final changes in June to a proposal for a so-called Downtown Overlay District . The plan has been undergoing public discussions for more than a year and has received opposition from many downtown residents. Among the more contentious points is a proposed height increase for commercial buildings. The council hasn’t discussed that portion of the plan, but is expected to make a decision on it at its June 4 meeting. read more »
