A builder has been named for the proposed EastPark housing development.

Kirkland-based Chaffey Homes is the candidate that won out in the decision. There were no bids asked for.

Bremerton Mayor Cary Bozeman said the decision of the city council was based on a request for proposals and out of four companies who submitted, Chaffey provided the best package.

The Homebuilders Association of Kitsap County’s annual Parade of Homes, has been set for the second weekend in August — August 9 and 10.

The annual event showcases the HBA members best work. It includes new homes in all price ranges from “starter” homes to luxury custom homes. read more »

 

A vote on possible changes to impact fees comes before the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners later this month.

The public hearing on impact fees is June 23. Under consideration at that time is the range of fees and thoughts on other sources of revenue for the county.

Arguments on both the pros and cons of the fees are familiar, but people’s mood about them change. Public Works, parks and the school districts have already offered their recommendations, which call for a five-year phase-in plan of increased fees. read more »

 

Poulsbo’s Tim Ryan Construction has been awarded a contract to renovate the High Point shopping center located in Port Orchard. The 66,000 square-foot facility, situated at the intersection of Bethel Road and Mile Hill Drive just east of the roundabout, is owned by the Ing Family Trust and houses Nielson’s Appliances, JoAnne Fabrics, NAPA Auto Parts, the End Zone Tavern, an antique mall and several vacant spaces. read more »

The Washington Association of Realtors named Dave Jones, president of the Kitsap Association of Realtors , as recipient of the 2003 Realtor Achievement Award. Jones, who is with the Silverdale office of Windermere Real Estate, received the award because of his activities at both state and local associations and because of his involvement in community organizations. read more »

 

Bremerton and Bainbridge Island are two very distinct real estate markets in Kitsap County. Both have high livability factors appealing to different people.
