2013 Cadillac ATSA four-cylinder Cadillac sedan sounds like a risky move for a brand known for luxury and indeed it was the last time they tried it. The 1980’s Cadillac Cimarron was a mechanical and sales disaster, but the all-new 2013 Cadillac ATS is so far removed that the only real similarities are four doors and a Cadillac nameplate. read more »

2013 Volvo S60The Pacific Northwest has a strong Scandinavian heritage with many Nordic influenced communities. It’s no surprise that Swedish automobiles have always been popular here. A survey of Port Townsend back alleys might lead to the conclusion that this is where old Volvos retire. Newer ones are well represented throughout the region.

Volvo SUVs have taken place of the once ubiquitous Volvo wagons, but not everyone needs to haul large items from IKEA. Volvo sedans are excellent choices for people more interested in comfort than cargo capacity. read more »

2013 Honda AccordSport sedans have risen to positions of prominence and prestige formerly held by sport coupes, but that doesn’t mean sleek sports coupes are passé. The two-door body style is still highly desirable at the uppermost levels of the automotive spectrum and there has been a resurgence of two-door muscle cars such as the Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger. These are rear wheel drive cars. read more »

2013 Audi AllroadThe new-for-2013 Audi Allroad could very well have been called the Audi All Occasion, because it not only handles all types of roads, but all occasions from chores to evenings out. 2013 Ford TaurusThe 2013 Ford Taurus isn’t your father’s old Taurus. The midsize 1986 Taurus established a reputation as a decent, affordable, mostly reliable sedan/wagon that was also popular in fleet and rental pools. With the exception of the “sleeper” Taurus SHO models, the cars were pretty boring. Styling, to be polite, was bland.

The well-known nameplate was temporarily shelved in 2006 during the short stint of the Ford 500. read more »

2013 Infiniti G37The 2013 Infiniti G37 coupe is a sports car for people who desire performance and fun without attracting unnecessary attention. The G37 coupe (especially with the all-wheel-drive on our tester) has the wherewithal to stay with most competitors, but it’s more likely to fly under the radar than flashier cars. That stealthy nature suits many low-key Pacific Northwest natives — success and substance without being ostentatious. read more »

2012 Hyundai VelosterThe new for 2012 Hyundai Veloster stands out in a crowd for several reasons: unique styling (it’s a 3-door sport hatchback), excellent fuel economy, affordable pricing, versatility, and fun to drive personality. In a world full of copycat cars the Hyundai Veloster dares to be different and succeeds. There are unique cars with minimal functionality, but the Veloster works both as a styling statement and sensible transportation. read more »

2012 Jeep Grand CherokeeThe 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited is a vehicle that could have very well been designed specifically for Pacific Northwest drivers. It’s a multi-purpose SUV that does an outstanding job of melding ruggedness, versatility and luxury in one reasonably sized package. The Grand Cherokee suits the outdoor activities that are so popular with local residents and it also serves as a safe, comfortable commuter cocoon. read more »
